ARM's Energy Division is recruiting an experienced Branch Manager to join a market-leading Industrial electrics wholesaler based in Rugby.
Job Purpose:
To lead and manage the operations of the branch, ensuring profitable performance through effective leadership, operational control, sales development, and customer service. The Branch Manager is responsible for achieving financial targets, developing business relationships, managing inventory and logistics, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management
* Lead, motivate, and develop branch staff to meet objectives.
* Manage recruitment, training, performance reviews, and HR issues in collaboration with HR.
* Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and customer service excellence.
Sales & Customer Service
* Drive sales and profitability through proactive business development.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key industrial clients, contractors, and suppliers.
* Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and risks.
Operations & Inventory
* Oversee day-to-day branch operations, including warehousing, transport, and order fulfillment.
* Manage stock levels effectively to meet demand while controlling costs.
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Financial Management
* Manage branch P&L, budgets, and forecasting in line with company targets.
* Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.
* Control operational costs and improve efficiency.
Strategic Development
* Contribute to the strategic growth plan of the region.
* Develop and implement local sales and marketing initiatives.
* Represent the branch at regional and national meetings as required.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
* Proven experience in managing a trade branch or similar operation in electrical or industrial distribution.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Solid commercial acumen with the ability to interpret financial data.
* Excellent customer service and relationship management abilities.
* Strong understanding of electrical products and the industrial supply chain.
* IT literate (e.g., ERP systems, Microsoft Office).
Desirable:
* Knowledge of local market and key industrial sectors (e.g., manufacturing, utilities, construction).
* Experience with health and safety compliance in warehouse or trade environments.
* Sales or business development background.
Qualifications:
* Degree or diploma in Business, Management, or related field (preferred).
* Electrical or technical qualification (advantageous).
* Valid driving licence.
