IT Technician
SEND School | Skelmersdale
Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Pay: Grade 4-6 (dependent on experience)
Contract: Permanent (term-time plus inset days / full year - amend as needed)
We are seeking a reliable, driven IT Technician to join our supportive SEND school in Skelmersdale. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes initiative, and wants to grow within a school environment, with clear progression to IT Manager for the right candidate.
This role does have a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.
The Role
You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of IT systems across the school, supporting staff and students in a specialist SEND setting.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing first-line IT support to staff and pupils
Maintaining and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network systems
Supporting classroom technology and assistive technologies used in SEND education
Managing user accounts, devices, and data security
Liaising with external IT providers where required
Proactively identifying and resolving IT issues
Supporting the ongoing development of the school's IT infrastructure
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
Reliable, proactive, and driven, with strong initiative
Confident providing IT support in a busy school environment
Able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users
Organised, adaptable, and solution-focused
Keen to develop professionally, with ambitions to progress into an ITT Manager role
Previous experience in a school or SEND setting is desirable but not essential for the right candidate with the right attitude.
