3rd Line Support Engineer
Location: Bristol - Hybrid/Onsite
Salary: Up to £45,000
We're looking for an experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer to join a growing IT team and play a pivotal role in supporting, maintaining, and securing business-critical systems. Acting as an escalation point for 1st and 2nd line support, this role will give you the opportunity to work with a wide range of modern technologies while delivering projects that make a real impact.
What you'll be doing
* Acting as the go-to point for escalated incidents and complex service requests
* Managing and maintaining core infrastructure including servers, storage, networking, and cloud platforms
* Ensuring IT security best practices are followed, including patching, vulnerability remediation, and access management
* Administering backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Acronis and Azure Backup
* Overseeing Windows Server environments (2012-2022), Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS and DHCP
* Supporting and securing cloud environments (Azure and AWS)
* Administering Microsoft Exchange and Office 365
* Delivering IT projects from planning through to successful completion
* Maintaining clear documentation and contributing to internal knowledge sharing
What we're looking for
* Proven 3rd line / senior technical support experience
* Strong skills across Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, Exchange/Office 365
* Hands-on knowledge of Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms
* Experience with VMware and Hyper-V virtualisation
* Familiarity with firewall management, VLAN creation, LAN/WAN troubleshooting
* Solid understanding of backup and disaster recovery solutions
* Awareness of compliance frameworks (Cyber Essentials Plus, PCI DSS, ISO, CoCo)
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a security-first mindset
