With a drive to achieve organic growth, AIM is looking to strengthen its external sales team with the addition of a Specification and Sales Manager role for Northern England and Scotland. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and results driven Specification and Sales Manager to join our external sales team. As an experienced Specification and Sales Manager, you will be responsible for identifying construction projects that will be able to utilise our range of fire, thermal and acoustic insulation products. You will generate specifications for the company s products and create a project pipeline which will be supplied through installers sourcing through a distribution network. Additionally, you will own and manage customer and installer relationships in the territory running from the M62 corridor through northern England and all of Scotland. Additionally, you will be seeking new business opportunities for AIM s fabrication capabilities with OEM customers. What does the role involve? As a Specification and Sales Manager you will be the demand generator for the growth of the AIM business within the defined territory: You will engage with the specification community to raise awareness of the business s products and technical offering so that specifications can be generated. You will create opportunities for, and deliver, CPD presentations and have the ability to read construction drawings and details to identify which of our products provides the solution required. You will identify and build relationships with key installers so that their project requirements are serviced through your distribution customer base. You will engage with your distribution customers so that they are fully aware of the AIM product and service offering generating a steady flow of enquiries and sales. You will be working hand in hand with technical support and internal sales personnel to deliver the highest levels of customer support and service are achieved. You will be seeking new business opportunities for AIM s fabrication capabilities with OEM customers. The successful candidate will require: A track record of selling to specifiers such as architects, engineers and design teams within main contractors and the larger specialist installers. The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, installers and colleagues Construction industry knowledge, ideally within the build envelope of medium to high rise buildings and include fire, thermal and acoustic insulation. An aptitude for understanding complex specification and technical details associated with the design of the building envelope. Proven experience in sales-driven roles dependant on the specifier to installer to distribution relationship Able to demonstrate that they have established and cultivate strong relationships with channel partners and internal colleagues. A self-motivated, with a continuous improvement, mindset. A great communicator both verbally and in the written word. IT literate with extremely good attention to detail Ideally someone with a background in specification sales of technically oriented building products, ideally used in the construction of the envelope or superstructure of the building.
