Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their in-house legal team. The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial lawyer specializing in technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The role involves providing practical, business-focused legal advice to global business and corporate services partners.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide legal support on legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
* Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related issues; support day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal matters.
* Manage compliance with laws and regulations across jurisdictions and network policies.
* Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal expertise.
* Develop and implement governance and operational policies, procedures, and playbooks.
* Review and advise on new services, solutions, and related legal/regulatory issues.
* Manage external legal counsel across jurisdictions, ensuring cost-effective work.
* Balance practical advice with risk management and compliance obligations.
* Present on legal topics and write articles.
* Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
* UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or relevant in-house experience.
* Strong legal skills with ability to lead complex legal/regulatory matters.
* Strategic risk management mindset, able to identify issues and recommend mitigation.
* Experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing agreements; advising on multi-jurisdictional laws/regulations.
* Ability to work independently and manage complex files, collaborating with business teams.
* Capable of balancing legal risk management with business growth demands.
* Self-motivated, thriving in a fast-paced, global environment.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
