The role involves understanding health inequalities, informing regional targeting and monitoring from cancer registration data, and supporting policy, communications and fundraising activity.

Responsibilities

* Regularly monitor, analyse and interpret a wide range of healthcare data sources using statistical methods to support ongoing projects and organisational priorities.

* Evaluate the impact of health influencing campaigns, share findings and make recommendations that support future planning and decision‑making.
* Provide timely insights to policy, communications and fundraising teams, helping them understand data stories, identify gaps and focus impact.
* Develop and monitor key indicators and benchmarks, champion the use of data and evidence to drive continuous improvement across the organisation.

Qualifications & Experience

* Experience working with real‑world health data, including linking, cleaning and modelling datasets using R, Python or Stata.
* Good understanding of epidemiological concepts and population health measures, as well as aggregated and patient‑level data sources in health and social care.
* Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and moving between different data tools and formats.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills – able to share findings with technical and non‑technical audiences while maintaining credibility.
* Ability to interpret complex information, assess data quality, identify gaps and turn analysis into clear, meaningful insight.
* Structured reasoning when approaching unfamiliar problems and datasets.
* Desirable: experience with advanced statistical methods (e.g., regression, survival analysis, forecasts), dashboard development using Tableau, Power BI or R Shiny, stakeholder management, contributing to publications or presenting analytical findings.

Salary & Benefits

This role is in Salary Band 3, with a starting salary of £36,250 – £39,500 per year. After 12 months of successful service, colleagues will move to the midpoint of the pay band at £42,500. The London office is the contractual place of work; a working‑from‑home allowance of £312 per year (HMRC tax‑free rate) is provided. We pay at least the London Living Wage and apply the updated rate each April.

Benefits include:

* Generous leave entitlements that increase with service
* One ‘development day’ a month for training or personal development
* Enhanced contributory pension scheme
* Life insurance and group income protection
* Health Cash Plan
* Life and wellbeing advice and support via our Employee Assistance Programme

We support a range of people networks and have signed the Business in the Community Race at Work Charter as part of our commitment to improving health equity for Black men and other protected groups.

Work Arrangement

Colleagues attend the office at least four days per month (pro‑rata for part‑time colleagues) to collaborate and support projects. You can choose where to work the rest of the time. Additional in‑person attendance may be required during induction and training. Flexible working is supported, and reasonable adjustments are made for disability, neurodiversity or long‑term physical or mental health conditions.
