Mission Systems Engineer
Location: Bristol, UK – Hybrid (usually a minimum of 3 days on-site)
Salary: £52,500 - £57,000

A leading defence technology organisation is seeking a Mission Systems Engineer to join their dynamic international team, delivering mission planning products for key domestic and export customers. This role offers hands-on experience with operational mission planning equipment and the chance to work across the full product lifecycle.
Key responsibilities:
• Conduct systems design activities for various mission planning products.
• Contribute to requirements capture, design freezes, system integration, and testing through to full product verification and certification.
• Collaborate closely with UK and French Systems and Software teams, as well as other stakeholders, to ensure robust design and validation.
• Engage directly with customers and end-users, providing insights and feedback for operational products.
• Work across all stages of the development lifecycle, from initial concept through in-service support and customer training.
Skills and experience required:
• Strong understanding of the systems engineering process, ideally with full lifecycle experience.
• Experience with requirements capture and control tools (e.g., DOORS) and configuration management.
• Proven ability to communicate and work collaboratively across multiple teams and locations.
• Strong analytical skills and experience in technical problem solving.
• Understanding of mission planning principles is advantageous.
• Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
