Part-time Veterinary Surgeon
Paws Veterinary Centre, Colchester
Salary up to £70,000 depending on experience plus a relocation allowance up to £5,000
Paws Veterinary Centre are recruiting for an enthusiastic small animal Veterinary Surgeon, who is confident with both consultations and routine surgery, to join their team on a permanent basis. We perform surgeries and dentals every week day and this role can be tailored to a surgery or consulting bias depending on the individual preference of the candidate.
Our ideal candidate would be a positive person who works well as part of a small team. This could be someone who is happy in general practice or someone with aspirations of further education. They must be RCVS registered and confident when faced with emergency cases.

The ideal candidate will work two full days (8.30am - 6.30pm) of their choice, with the option of an additional part day if they wish. There will also be a 1 in 3 Saturday morning involved on a rota from 8:30am-12:30pm. We use Vets Now for our out of hours, so there is no out of hours or bank holiday shifts.

Paws is a small and friendly first opinion practice based in Colchester. The practice is located very close to the town centre and just a short drive to Mersea Island. We are a kind and caring team who pride ourselves on excellent patient care. We work very well as a team and support each other where needed.
We have everything we need to be an independent first opinion practice and will always consider investment in new equipment and further education to support future development of our staff and business.

We currently have 2 Veterinary Surgeons and are recruiting for a third. One of our Vets is recently qualified and the other is experienced and soon to complete her certificate in ophthalmology.
We also have 4 experienced qualified Registered Veterinary Nurses and 3 Receptionists.
There are local certificate holders in orthopaedics, cardiology and medicine who visit us for individual patients when required. This enables us to keep a lot of our more complex cases in house.
