We are currently seeking a highly skilled Electrical and/or Mechanical Projects Engineer with expertise to work in the Project Engineering department. The ideal candidate will have some background in project management, impeccable communication skills, and technical proficiency with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site projects from detailed design through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with minimal impact on site operations.
Key Attributes:
* Mechanical/Electrical based apprenticeship qualification will be advantageous
* 5+ years’ mechanical/electrical experience is required, ideally from the manufacturing industry, but other backgrounds will be considered
* Decisive with the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively to meet deadlines
* Excellent numeric and analytical skills
* Highly motivated with proven ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
* Team player who collaborates well with others and individually to achieve company goals
* Methodical with excellent organisational and communication skills
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify practical solutions
* Ability to multi-task across multiple projects
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
* Previous project management experience will be advantageous
Key Tasks and Duties:
* Work within the ethos and standards of the company
* Ensure a safe, clean working environment and adherence to permit systems
* Manage site projects related to Capex and relevant operational projects
* Manage contractors, ensuring compliance with health & safety procedures
* Sourcing cost-effective solutions and working with OEMs/Suppliers for optimal ROI
* Lead projects from detailed design through to successful CAR approval
* Work flexible hours to meet project deadlines
* Complete snag lists, site handover protocols, and update site documentation
* Coordinate and communicate effectively with site departments
* Liaise with relevant departments to facilitate smooth project execution
* Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering Project Manager UK/IRL Manager to drive change and industry best practices
* Communicate effectively with the Engineering Department across Unilin sites
* Perform other duties as assigned by management
* Occasional travel to Unilin and OEM sites may be required
