Description Utilising your knowledge and expertise in the Cost Engineering discipline you will be responsible for providing Project Control solutions and services to our clients. You will also be a key contributor to improving processes, procedures and tools utilised by the function. As a Senior Cost Engineer, you are required to be commercially focused, confident in running your own project as well as working effectively within a team. Candidates with a track record of cost management at pre and post contract; working on contracts through the development cycle to the delivery through the construction phase would be preferred. Establishing professional and appropriate relationships with clients, colleagues and other parties involved in the projects and programmes we support Administering a variety of contracts in accordance with project objectives and policies Managing and maintaining Cost Control and Forecasting on a range of projects Ensuring the basis of Estimates at Completion (EAC) is predicted using industry recognised approaches or as required by the Contract, including but not limited to, the latest resourced schedule and EVM productivity as to ensure accurate, reliable and consistent forecasting and ensuring that any change is managed and reported ; Preparation of monthly and weekly cost and resource reports Supporting the development and management of independent risk analyses of cost reports and cashflows Producing Invoices and application for Payments to the Client Providing an integrated, timely and reliable Cost Reporting service to both internal and external stakeholders in accordance with the requirenments of Costain’s proceses and the Contract Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Essential Strong communications skills with the ability to relate to people at all levels, particularly with Client Representatives; Significant commercial awareness Able to demonstrate expertise of Excel and should have had exposure to various bespoke cost management software systems PI Can work to tight timescales and works well under pressure Desirable Primavera P6 experience is preferred Experience with Business Intelligence Software (such as Power BI) preferred but not essential Qualifications Essential Minimum of HNC/HND ideally in a cost related discipline or relevant experience Desirable Ideally, has a recognised Project Controls qualification or is a part qualified accountant or solid experience in Project Controls/Cost Engineering.
