Security Officer
Pay Rate: £13.85 per hour
Location: DA17
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (days, nights & weekends)
Job Overview
* The Site Security, responsible for leading security operations at the designated client site and reporting to the Regional Security Operations Manager.
* Manage daily security operations, CCTV monitoring, patrols, access point monitoring, incident handling, and accurate reporting.
* Supervise and support on‑site security teams, ensuring a safe and secure environment for personnel and assets.
* Maintain the highest standards of site security through strong leadership, attention to detail, and calm decision‑making under pressure.
* The Site Supervisor is accountable for welfare provisions, working in conjunction with health and safety officers to comply with legal requirements and company policies.
Main Duties
* Protect customers' property, people and/or assets according to the site’s Assignment Instructions (AI’s) and any changes.
* Deliver results that meet or exceed key performance indicators / Service Level Agreements, ensuring contract retention.
* Participate in continuous self‑development training.
* Oversee day‑to‑day operation of security services.
* Act as the first point of contact for the security team, managing standards of dress, discipline and conduct.
* Assist in training and induction of new security officers on site procedures and policies, including CCTV, access control, deliveries, fire alarms and intruder alarms.
* Promote teamwork, high morale and motivational methods within the workforce.
* Review security officers’ performance and development.
* Assist with equipment investigations (thefts, missing items, complaints, etc.).
* Provide liaison with customer/client as required.
* Ensure adherence to Assignment Instructions by all security and shipping personnel.
* Communicate important messages in the Security Handover; ensure all personnel read and acknowledge them.
* Maintain up‑to‑date security records and logs.
* Ensure compliance with data protection legislation by the security team.

* Possession of Counter Terrorism (CT) level clearance or SC clearance.
* Capability to satisfy vetting checks per BS7858.
* Knowledge of BS 7499 standards and requirements.
* Valid SIA License for guarding/door supervision and CCTV licence.
* Site supervisory experience (essential).
* Good literacy and communication skills in English.
* Computer and software proficiency.
* Reliability, self‑motivation and ability to work without supervision.
* Decision‑making, problem‑solving and prioritisation skills.
* Capability to inspire self‑motivation within staff.
* Tact and diplomacy when dealing with people at all levels.
* Self‑confidence and interest in self‑development.
