Purpose of the Position/ Role Summary: The Commercial Technical Equine Veterinarian is a new position and is critical to Bimeda’s ambitious equine strategy. This individual will be involved in all aspects of our equine portfolio and strategy from inception to execution. The role holder will have strong commercial acumen in addition to technical excellence. This role ensures that Bimeda enhances their presence as experts in the equine sector, becoming a preferred partner of choice for equine veterinarians. This role is a remote role, ideally located in UK or France. Key Role Specific Requirements: Technical Excellence Provision of technical commercial support to our equine business internally and our external partners. Training- Assume responsibility for developing innovative and engaging training support for our equine veterinarian customers and our distribution partners, ensuring we become a preferred partner, and increase sales. Training- develop innovative and engaging training programmes for internal partners (commercial, marketing, R&D and regulatory) to ensure excellence. New starts require training on our equine range- develop and deliver this training material. Collaborate with the technical teams both internally, and within our distribution partners. Marketing Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and approve promotional materials in line with the local Veterinary Medicines Regulations (VMRs). Identify the product ‘Unique Selling Points’ that benefit our customers, their value proposition and integrate that in to the product marketing strategy. Support the marketing and other teams, with new product launches, and product campaigns and strategies to ensure impactful and ambitious marketing. Innovation Work cross-functionally with the new product pipeline team to identify opportunities, assess their potential and advise on requirements for success. Contribute to study designs, trial protocols, and clinical evaluations for new equine products. Interpret and present trial data to stakeholders in a scientifically sound and accessible manner. Industry Collaboration Develop and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) across the European equine veterinary sector. Utilise those KOL relationships to benefit Bimeda for example partnering to deliver webinars and conference lectures which benefit Bimeda’s strategic goals. Build relationships with universities to ensure students graduating are aware of Bimeda as sector experts. Support and join expert industry groups (such as CANTER) to ensure Bimeda remain updated on the latest developments and contribute and support their aims as active partners. Commercial Support the business and commercial team in their goals to secure business. This could include cross-functional work with strategic and key accounts, presence at industry events (for example BEVA conference), technical training for strategic accounts and technical advice. Continuously improve your own commercial acumen by attending both internal and external commercial training sessions, in addition to digital resources such as LinkedIn Learning. Pharmacovigilance/Pharmaceutical Responsible & Technical Enquires Handle pharmacovigilance reports in the necessary timeline, with professionalism, and submit them to the pharmacovigilance team. Orchestrate any clinical investigation require to resolve pharmacovigilance cases, in partnership with the reporting veterinary surgeons. Ensure that any subsequent follow up training or advice is delivered to maintain product confidence. At times, support may be to cover holidays etc, in our ruminant technical team. Training will be provided to facilitate this. Other Requirements: Essential: Membership of a European Veterinary Body (such as RCVS or VCI) enabling you to practice in that European country. Veterinary Degree Minimum 5 years’ clinical experience in first opinion equine practice, ideally with performance or sport horses Strong commercial acumen. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to translate complex veterinary information into accessible messages for varied audiences. Travel will be required internationally to customer meetings and trade events. Fluent in English. Ideally located in UK or France. Desirable: Membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (UK) and/or Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI). Membership of FEEVA- Federation of European Equine Veterinary Associations Experience in an Equine referral setting or advanced Equine certification/qualifications. Additional languages (French/ Spanish/ German in particular). Experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a commercial or technical role. Knowledge of the commercial landscape in equine health. Previous involvement in product trials, pharmacovigilance, or marketing compliance. Knowledge of equine nutrition, diagnostics, or therapeutics. Established network within the equine veterinary and Equine Sport community. Established KOL relationships.
