Job Purpose:
* Manage and lead the central insurance operations unit covering all non-life insurance operations
* Manage and direct the provision of insurance operations to DHL worldwide trading entities including the collection and collation of exposure information, management of the annual renewal cycle, end-to-end management of insurance premium collection (circa 1,800 invoices / EUR 150m value), delivery of insurance policies and evidence of cover, delivery of High Value Shipment approvals and Customer Insurance rate requests (circa 2,500), First Choice (BPO), and preparation and delivery of management reporting and KPI’s
* Manage London office facilities management and provide a single point of contact for IRM SMT on facilities and operational matters
* Manage the execution of insurance job family strategic initiatives including provision of project management services
Your tasks:
* Manage and direct all non-life insurance renewal processes including the communication and agreement of timelines, exposure data collection and validation, pre-underwriting, and preparation of renewal submissions for program heads.
* Manage the collection & validation of claim data, premium payment tracking, and exposure changes. Maintain territorial analysis, policy structure, local document requirements & assessment of fronting capabilities.
* Manage insurance renewal offers preparation and issuance, including management commentary to assist in delivering terms to business partners by the global program heads.
* Manage the insurance renewal acceptance process & collate all finalized terms. Facilitate discussions over terms with support of program heads where clarifications / negotiations arise.
* Manage insurance program delivery including management of fronting carriers, delivery of evidence of insurance, timely and accurate invoicing, and premium allocations.
* Responsible for the preparation and delivery of post renewal reports and KPI’s to relevant stakeholders.
* Maintain and update market share details within global programs, including claims handlers and deductible levels.
* Manage the collection of reinsurance agreements & policy wordings, ensuring proper execution and stakeholder approval.
* Manage security across non-life programs including letters of credit and parental guarantees.
* Manage, train, and direct a team of 5 FTEs in insurance operations.
* Oversee all program delivery areas including certificates, referrals, pricing requests, and high-value shipment approvals.
* Manage the London Underwriting System and centralized data, analyze management information, and develop insights for senior management, including trend analysis and benchmarking.
* Develop and maintain knowledge of IRM service portfolio and organizational strategies.
* Manage London office facilities, including telephony, H&S, data protection, invoicing, and procurement.
* Ensure continuous BPO improvements in transactional/analytical processes and engagement & delivery.
Your profile:
* University degree and/or professional qualification in insurance (ACII, FCII, CPCU, CEBS, IEBA) or business management.
* 10+ years’ experience in Insurance Operations within a global multinational insurance company.
* Proven leadership in developing, coaching, and leading teams in a multinational environment.
* Exceptional data, analytics, project management, and time management skills.
* Six Sigma / Lean management experience.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word & Excel.
* Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and pay high attention to detail.
