Job overview
The post holder will join the core team for Specialist Hospitals Clinical Board to support the Director of Nursing to provide forward-thinking clinical and professional leadership to nursing staff at all levels within the Board. The role will have a particular focus on supporting operational delivery and improvement across the Clinical Board, working with divisional leads to ensure that care is delivered to a high standard and that resources are managed effectively.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will work with the Director of Nursing to deliver specific pieces of work in line with the corporate nursing and midwifery strategy, ensuring achievement of its objectives and proactively modernising nursing roles in accordance with the needs of patients. They will work with teams across the Board to provide senior nursing professional input and support the professional development of senior nursing staff in collaboration with divisional colleagues.
The post holder will work with the Director of Nursing and other senior nursing leads in the Board to champion the voice of the nursing profession, develop the strategy for our nursing workforce in the board and ensure effective governance arrangements are implemented and maintained.
This post holder will deputise for the Director of Nursing as required and will work across operational and corporate nursing teams as part of the senior nursing leadership of UCLH.
