Job Title:Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical & Building Services

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our Mechanical & Building Services team based in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to take ownership of the commercial management of M&E projects from pre-construction through to final account.
You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation, submission, and agreement of interim valuations and applications for payment
* Management and negotiation of variations
* Preparation and submission of Extension of Time (EOT) claims
* Management and agreement of final accounts
* Full commercial administration of subcontractor accounts, including procurement, payments, and final account agreement
* Cost forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting
* Attending and contributing to client and project meetings
* Direct liaison with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders
* Ensuring contractual compliance across all project activities
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Mechanical & Building Services
* Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT/NEC)
* Experience managing variations, applications, EOT claims, and final accounts
* Confident in managing subcontractor packages
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (HNC/HND/Degree)
