The Role

We are looking for a driven and analytical Merchandiser to join our growing team. In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring our products are well-positioned in the market, stock levels are optimized, and trade performance is continuously reviewed to drive business growth. You’ll collaborate closely with various teams, including Design, Marketing, E-commerce, and Supply Chain, to execute strategic initiatives and achieve financial targets. If you're a strategic thinker with a passion for retail and merchandising, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

1. Trade Analysis & Action Planning

* Own the start-of-week trade analysis, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities.
* Propose actionable recommendations to the Management to drive sales and address potential issues.
* Monitor inventory levels, making timely recommendations for stock replenishment and potential trading actions.
* Control stock levels in line with weekly sales data and stock intake (WSSI), ensuring products are available to meet customer demand without overstocking.
* Identify top-selling products and ensure they reach their full potential through appropriate stock management and promotional strategies.
* Proactively identify and manage product risks, including underperforming lines and stock-outs.

4. Season Reviews & Future Planning

* Lead season reviews and lessons learned to inform future merchandising strategies.
* Apply insights from previous seasons to refine and improve the product range and planning for upcoming periods.
* Collaborate with the Design and product teams to develop and maintain a comprehensive merchandise plan that aligns with company objectives, customer demand, and financial targets.
* Ensure the merchandise plan reflects seasonal trends and customer preferences.

6. End-of-Season Sales (EOSS) & Product Exit Strategy

* Take ownership of the EOSS strategy and product exit plans, collaborating with the Merchandising Director and CCO to sign off on final markdowns and stock exit strategies.
* Ensure that product exit strategies are implemented effectively and with minimal impact to brand perception.

7. Collaboration with Commercial Teams

* Work closely with marketing, finance, and eCommerce teams to develop and execute commercial strategies and plans.
* Ensure that merchandising strategies are aligned with wider business goals and market trends.
* Manage relationships with production team working closely on pricing, and delivery schedules to optimize product availability and margin.
* Ensure suppliers adhere to delivery timelines and quality standards, particularly for key product launches.

9. Team Management & Support

* Oversee the day-to-day management of the MAA and AM, ensuring their workload is effectively prioritized based on the current needs of the business.
* Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure high performance and effective task execution.

10. Ad-hoc Duties

* Provide additional support on ad-hoc projects and tasks as required, maintaining flexibility and adaptability to business needs.

Skills & Experience:

* Proven experience in merchandising, ideally within retail or fashion.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable insights.
* In-depth knowledge of stock management and trade analysis tools (e.g., WSSI).
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
* Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and an understanding of the supply chain process.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
* Experience in leading and developing a team.
