 New Opportunity - CNC Programmer and Operator
 We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Programmer and Operator to join a precision engineering business based in Castle Donington. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional who takes pride in producing high-quality components and enjoys working in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment.
 As a CNC Programmer and Operator, you'll be responsible for creating, setting, and running CNC programs to manufacture precision parts in line with detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
 Key Responsibilities:
 
Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements. 
Develop, simulate, and optimise CNC programs using CAM software. 
Select appropriate tools, speeds, feeds, and cutting paths. 
Set up and calibrate CNC machines, including tooling and part alignment. 
Load raw materials, monitor production, and carry out in-process and first-off inspections using micrometres, callipers, and gauges. 
Troubleshoot machining issues, perform basic maintenance, and report any machine malfunctions promptly. 
Maintain a clean and safe working environment, complying with all health and safety regulations. 
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure targets are met. 
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support Lean Manufacturing principles. 
Identify personal development opportunities and work towards appraisal objectives. Requirements:
 
Proven experience programming and operating CNC machines. 
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models. 
Skilled in CNC controls (Heidenhain and Siemens) and CAM software (Powermill or Fusion). 
Strong understanding of machining principles and material behaviour (aluminium, stainless steel, plastics, etc.). 
Engineering qualification such as a time-served apprenticeship, HNC, or HND (or equivalent). 
Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities. 
Good communication, organisational, and time management skills. 
Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently or as part of a team. About the Role:
 
Location: Castle Donington 
Hours: 38 hours per week (flexitime - start between 7:00am and 8:30am, Mon-Thurs, and a shorter day on Friday) 
Pay: £17.69 per hour
