As the Resuscitation Lead, you will be the driving force behind our organisation’s resuscitation strategy, overseeing the planning, delivery and governance of all CPR training from Basic Life Support to Advanced Life Support, ensuring our teams are skilled, confident, and ready to act when it matters most.


Responsibilities

* Plan, deliver and govern CPR training (BLS, ALS, and other relevant courses) in line with the Trust’s CPR Training Policy and National Resuscitation Council Guidelines.
* Ensure a robust resuscitation service Trust‑wide, providing clinical, educational and managerial support.
* Meet statutory and mandatory training requirements (national, regional, Deanery) and maintain governance, resource allocation and management.
* Manage operational delivery of training resources and support effective execution of all programmes.
* Audit and monitor standards of resuscitation practice and equipment, assist with procurement and monitoring of clinical equipment.
* Line‑manage resuscitation, medical devices and medical gases training teams, ensuring appropriate management and team development.
* Lead resuscitation data audit collection and act as conduit between clinical practice and the National Cardiac Arrest Audit (NCAA), formulating reports for the resuscitation committee and relevant clinical teams.
* Project‑manage priority resuscitation training programmes across the organisation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards for safety and quality of care.
* Lead the development, delivery and support of national adult and paediatric advanced/ immediate life support courses.
* Support the Trust’s resuscitation teams, developing and implementing resuscitation policies and procedures trust wide.
* Support the Resuscitation Committee as a senior member, providing assurance with regard to training, clinical practice standards and audit results.
* Maintain a specialist knowledge base to support the department of professional healthcare education in clinical education for resuscitation services.
* Lead and coordinate mandatory training to remain compliant with national standards, regulations and governance.
* Provide information and professional advice to support the Trust in meeting national standards and legislative requirements relating to resuscitation and medical emergencies.


Qualifications

* Preference given to internal Trust staff and to applicants with Priority or ‘At Risk’ NHS status across Devon who can demonstrate recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
* Demonstrated background in resuscitation, clinical governance, training delivery and audit.
* Strong leadership, strategic planning and team management skills.
