Technical Assistant A local authority is seeking a motivated and organised Technical Assistant to support the Health and Safety Manager and help promote a positive health and safety culture across the organisation. About the Role Provide day-to-day health and safety support and advice to managers and employees Prepare management information and statistical reports including accident data and DSE assessments Take accurate minutes at meetings and support departmental administration Manage and update departmental intranet pages (SharePoint) Maintain health and safety records and databases, including asbestos management systems Coordinate health and safety training, including bookings and attendance monitoring Assist with preparing presentations and reports for senior management and elected members Support the development and monitoring of health and safety policies and procedures Respond to written enquiries, Freedom of Information requests and invoicing tasks Contribute to health and safety projects as required What We Are Looking For Recent experience taking accurate minutes at meetings Experience managing intranet pages using SharePoint Experience in a varied administrative role Ability to communicate fluently, both written and verbal Strong Microsoft Office skills Good attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records Ability to manage time effectively and work on own initiative Basic knowledge of health and safety legislation Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths
