Why this role?
Calisen’s Risk, Assurance and Compliance team plays a key role in helping the Group operate safely and effectively. As our Internal Audit Manager, you’ll work across the business to understand how things really work, build relationships with senior stakeholders, and help shape the control environment as we continue to grow.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone 0-2 years post‑qualification - especially candidates from an ACA / Chartered Accountant background looking to build commercial understanding and broaden their career beyond traditional audit.
What you’ll be doing
1. Plan and deliver internal audits in line with best‑practice and our agreed audit plan.
2. Lead end‑to‑end audit engagements - working directly with process owners, surfacing issues, and influencing the adoption of pragmatic, effective actions.
3. Assess risks and controls, giving commercial advice on new processes, systems and change activity.
4. Prepare clear, concise audit reports and present your findings to senior leaders.
5. Track remediation activity and provide assurance on progress.
6. Champion best practice, helping to embed strong governance, risk awareness and compliance across the business.
7. Collaborate with other assurance providers to build a unified picture of control effectiveness.
What we’re looking for
We want someone who is engaging, curious, and confident with people. You’ll need to build trust, influence outcomes and communicate clearly at all levels.
Essential
8. Degree‑educated and professionally qualified (ACA, IIA or equivalent).
9. Ideally 0-2 years post‑qualified, with practical audit experience (Top 10 firm or industry welcome).
10. Strong interpersonal skills - you enjoy working with people, asking questions, and influencing.
11. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously.
12. High integrity and strong report‑writing skills.
13. A desire to learn and take on new responsibilities.
Desirable
14. Knowledge of risk management, compliance, or control frameworks.
15. Exposure to Power BI or data analytics.
