Warehouse Manager - Chesterfield
Reporting to the Regional Head of Logistics, the Warehouse Manager will assume responsibility for
the day-to-day management of our newly acquired 40,000 sq ft warehouse on the outskirts of Chesterfield, including order fulfilment, goods in, put-away, let-down, picking, dispatch and returns sortation. During the early stages of establishing our footprint for the Chesterfield site, we will operate a single shift set up – moving to 2 shift operation in the long term.
Additional duties will also include:
* Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with CHH’s policies and vision
* Set up Warehouse layout and ensure efficient space utilization
* Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
* Adhere to all warehousing, handling and distribution legislation requirements
* Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
* Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders
* Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
Essential skills and attributes
* MUST have proven experience as a Warehouse Manager coupled with strong knowledge of Warehousing KPIs
* Line management experience and can evidence record of developing team members
* Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
* Leadership skills and ability to manage and develop staff
* IT literate – in particular spreadsheets - with a knowledge of warehouse systems
* Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
* Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality
* Good planning, problem solving and decision making skills and ability to meet targets and deadlines
