Applications are welcomed for the post of Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO) / Director of Patient Safety and Clinical Effectiveness. The post offers PAs plus a responsibility allowance.
The DCMO / Director of Patient Safety and Clinical Effectiveness provides leadership in delivering the Trust’s strategic goals with a focus on improvements in quality, safety, performance, efficiency and effectiveness. The information pack for this post is attached.
This is a key role in the Chief Medical Officer’s leadership team. As a Deputy Chief Medical Officer, the holder of this post will work with the CMO and other DCMOs, and all DCMOs will be expected to support the entire CMO portfolio when required.
The CMO will arrange for DCMOs to change portfolios as appropriate to facilitate delivery of team priorities, professional development and succession planning. In line with this, Rustam Rea, the current Director of Patient Safety & Clinical Effectiveness, will be assuming another DCMO portfolio once the successful applicant for this post has been appointed.
