GSL Education are currently recruiting for SEN Learning Support staff in Cosham. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide targeted support to students who need additional help to access learning and build essential life skills. About the role: In your role as SEN Learning Support (LSA), you will work closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to support students both academically and emotionally. Whether providing one-to-one guidance or assisting small groups, your input will make a real difference in a young person’s life. Responsibilities of a Learning Support- SEN: Provide tailored support to students with a variety of special educational needs such as Autism, ADHD, and SEMH. Support pupils in following Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised learning targets. Encourage student participation, independence, and engagement within the classroom. Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the SENCO and classroom teacher. Assist with personal care and mobility support where needed. Collaborate with school staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent student support. Skills & Requirements SEN Learning Support (SEN LSA): Experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational or care setting as a SEN Learning Support. Qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance. A degree in Psychology, Education, Counselling, or a relevant subject is desirable. Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills. A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students with additional needs.
