Overview
Engineering Course Leader (Tutor). Full time: 37 hours per week. Location: Burton and South Derbyshire College, Swadlincote.
Salary: Up to £34,948 pro rata plus £4,500 'Golden Hello' staged over 3 years plus bursaries and development funding as detailed below.
Responsibilities
* Deliver and lead on a range of full-time engineering programmes.
* Teach across a range of Engineering courses and modules aligned to your occupational skill set to deliver high quality provision to learners.
* Demonstrate innovative teaching and learning, with excellent communication skills to motivate and guide learners to succeed.
Qualifications and experience
* Working knowledge and experience within Engineering and Manufacturing, with a focus on technical skills and machining; CNC experience desirable.
* Ability to teach across engineering courses; industrial experience preferred.
* Ideally hold a relevant Higher Education qualification in Engineering or related subjects and have appropriate teaching and assessing qualifications.
* Willingness to undertake training to gain a recognised teaching qualification alongside this role; vocational specialists welcome.
* Opportunity for industry professionals moving into teaching in further education to apply for government grant scheme with payments up to £6,000 per annum while studying teacher training programmes.
