About the Opportunity
We are looking for an aspiring and highly motivated individual pursuing a career in professional sport and data to join our Performance Insights team at Finch Farm as a Junior Data Engineer.
Responsibilities
* Implement the Academy Performance Data Strategy, including the design, development, and delivery of data solutions that support the Academy’s footballing objectives.
* Continuously review and update the strategy to ensure it remains current and relevant to the needs of the Academy.
* Collaborate with highly experienced and skilled data experts within the department, learning from diverse backgrounds and skillsets in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications
* Degree level (or equivalent) in a STEM subject or comparable experience.
* Demonstrated ability to continuously improve and upskill through additional qualifications or independent research projects.
* High proficiency in using SQL and Python to work with and manipulate real‑world data tasks.
* Effective communication with all stakeholders, demonstrating how data can impact on‑pitch performance.
* Ability to thrive as part of a cohesive, highly motivated team that shares the belief that data and insights can have a significant impact on the Club’s success.
Job Details
* Permanent role based at Finch Farm training ground in Liverpool (Halewood).
* Full‑time, 40 hours per week.
