Job Summary
Assist in the installation, maintenance, rearrangement, operation, removal, and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities. Drive and operate line trucks and associated auxiliary equipment. This role involves supervising and working under various levels of supervision to ensure safety and efficiency in transmission line work.
Job Description
Line Mechanic C:
Essential Job Functions:
* Perform duties according to safety rules, report unsafe conditions.
* Patrol lines, install, maintain, and repair overhead lines.
* Dig holes, set poles, towers, and anchors, replace poles, assemble tower components, perform rigging, and operate transmission tools.
* Assist with live line work under supervision, perform climbing maintenance, splice conductors, and maintain tools and work areas.
* Attend training, assist in training others, maintain records, and operate automotive equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
* High school diploma or GED.
* Minimum of one year transmission electrical power line experience or related line experience as specified.
* Valid Class A CDL license.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift and carry weights up to 75 pounds, climb structures, and work in various physical conditions.
Line Mechanic B:
Essential Job Functions:
* Perform safety duties, maintain lines, assist with energized circuit work, and operate equipment.
* Read and interpret drawings, patrol lines, maintain records, and assist in training.
Minimum Requirements:
* High school diploma or GED.
* 24 months satisfactory experience as Transmission Line Mechanic C or equivalent.
* Valid Class A CDL license.
Physical Demands:
Similar to Mechanic C, with ability to lift up to 75 pounds, climb structures, and work in demanding physical conditions.
Line Mechanic A:
Essential Job Functions:
* Perform all live line work, handle energized circuits, and operate various equipment and tools.
* Install, inspect, and maintain transmission and communication lines.
* Read drawings, perform line work on energized or de-energized circuits, and ensure safety protocols.
Minimum Requirements:
* High school diploma or GED.
* 24 months satisfactory experience as Transmission Line Mechanic B or equivalent.
* Valid Class A CDL license.
Physical Demands:
Similar to other roles, with ability to lift up to 75 pounds, climb, and work in physically demanding environments.
Compensation Data
Grade: N004-150
Range: $30.12 - $31.81 USD/hr
Physical Demand Level: Heavy Work
Additional Information
