Fitter
to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking company, supporting both the R&D and manufacturing functions in a varied, hands-on role. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of projects—from small components to large structural frameworks—and must be confident in welding, fabrication, and general workshop practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Reading and interpreting engineering and technical drawings to carry out tasks accurately
* Using workshop machinery including lathes and milling machines (both vertical and horizontal)
* Involvement in product testing activities such as cycle testing, vibration testing, dynamic testing, and static loading tests (some site visits required)
* MIG and TIG welding across a variety of materials (including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium)
* General fabrication work, from small guards to large-scale frameworks and barriers
* Carrying out welding using various methods including oxygen/acetylene, electric arc, MIG, and TIG
* Ensuring all work adheres to relevant health & safety standards and COSHH regulations
* Collaborating with the Service team and other departments as required
* Occasional travel to customer sites may be required (with potential overnight stays)
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience within assembly and welding
* Ability to read and interpret detailed technical and engineering drawings
* Competence with general workshop machinery (lathes, milling machines, etc.)
* Hydraulic and pneumatic system knowledge would be advantageous
* Flexibility to support cross-functional teams and off-site activities when needed
* Strong awareness of health & safety procedures and safe working practices
