Occupational Hygienist / Indoor Air Quality Consultant Location: Oxfordshire Salary: £27,000-£35,000 (DOE) benefits & profit share Contract: Permanent, full-time Start: ASAP An innovative, employee-owned environmental consultancy is looking for an early-career Occupational Hygienist / Indoor Air Quality professional to join its expanding team. The company delivers specialist services including air quality and dust monitoring, technical consultancy, equipment design/development, and laboratory testing/analysis. Everyone shares in the company's success through a profit-sharing model. The role This is a varied, hands-on position where you'll be supported to develop quickly. Responsibilities include: Carrying out occupational exposure assessments for dusts, fibres, VOCs, gases, and other workplace contaminants Producing clear, accurate technical reports with meaningful interpretation of results Assisting with noise monitoring, LEV assessments and related surveys (training provided) Responding to client enquiries, preparing quotations, and supporting business development activity The role is mainly office-based, with regular UK client site visits. Hybrid working is available once training is complete. What we're looking for Essential: At least 1 year's experience in occupational/industrial hygiene, including airborne contaminant and noise monitoring Strong communication skills with demonstrable report-writing capability Confident using Microsoft Word and Excel Able to handle, interpret and present large datasets Working knowledge of COSHH, EH40 and relevant MDHS guidance Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK Desirable: BOHS membership Degree in Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Science, or similar Familiarity with indoor air quality frameworks/standards (e.g., BREEAM) Experience with LEV testing and/or supporting commercial enquiries/quotations Comfortable in a client-facing role and able to work independently Willing to travel and stay overnight occasionally Benefits Employee ownership with profit share Support for professional memberships (BOHS, IES, IAQM) Competitive salary plus 7% employer pension contribution Private medical and dental cover Company vehicle schemes (subject to availability) Friendly, supportive team with strong progression and development Varied workload with UK-wide travel and occasional overseas work 25 days annual leave bank holidays Apply To apply or learn more, contact Abi King at Penguin Recruitment
