Care Home seeks a fun and lively individual with a high level of personal organisation and IT skills to bring joy to our community. Hours are 10am to 3pm, 5 days a week and the role is ideally suited to someone with experience as a HCSW. You must be willing to provide personal care, you will receive full training.

Overview

The Activities Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents within our care home. This position involves planning, organising, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being for our clients, including those with dementia care needs and reduced mobility. The ideal candidate will be passionate about care and possess strong communication skills to effectively connect with residents, families, and staff.

Duties

* Develop and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
* Coordinate special events and outings that foster community engagement and socialisation.
* Assess the needs and preferences of residents to ensure activities are relevant and beneficial.
* Collaborate with care staff to integrate therapeutic activities into residents' care plans.
* Maintain accurate records of participation in activities and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
* Train and supervise volunteers or activity assistants in delivering programmes.
* Communicate regularly with families to keep them informed about upcoming events and resident participation.

Skills

* Experience in a nursing home, care home, or senior care environment is highly desirable.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.
* A compassionate approach to care, demonstrating empathy towards the needs of seniors.
* Knowledge of dementia care practices is an advantage.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while also being self-motivated.
* Creativity in developing new programmes that stimulate interest and participation among residents.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From £13.00 per hour
