We are a dynamic and growing company, and we are now seeking a motivated and highly organised Purchasing Assistant to join our dedicated team. The Opportunity This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to build a career in purchasing and supply chain within a creative manufacturing environment. As a Purchasing Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of components and materials required for our production lines. You will be an integral part of our small, busy Purchasing Department, providing essential support to the Purchasing Manager and helping to maintain our strong supplier relationships. Key Responsibilities: ? Raising and placing purchase orders with our approved global supplier base. ? Expediting orders to ensure timely delivery and communicating lead times to the production team. ? Liaising with suppliers via email and telephone to resolve queries and track shipments. ? Maintaining and updating purchasing records and supplier information within our ERP system. ? Assisting with stock control, monitoring inventory levels, and identifying potential shortages. ? Collaborating with the Warehouse team to resolve delivery discrepancies. ? Working closely with the Accounts department to resolve any invoice queries. ? Providing general administrative support to the Purchasing department as required. About You: We are looking for a proactive and meticulous individual with a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have: Essential Skills & Experience: ? Proven experience in an administrative or purchasing/procurement support role. ? Excellent IT skills, with high proficiency in the MS Office Suite (particularly Excel). ? Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional telephone manner. ? Exceptional organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise a busy workload. ? A high level of accuracy and attention to detail. ? A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Desirable Skills (Not Essential): ? Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment. ? Previous experience using an ERP or MRP system. ? Experience in dealing with international suppliers. ?
