Senior Career Opportunity – Quantity Surveyor
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Bedford-based residential groundworks contractor. Due to sustained growth and a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming projects, the company is expanding its commercial leadership team and is seeking a high-calibre SQS to oversee and drive commercial performance across multiple sites.
This role offers senior-level responsibility, clear progression prospects, and the opportunity to play a key role in commercial strategy and project delivery.
Responsibilities
* Lead commercial management across multiple groundwork projects
* Maximise contract profitability and control project costs
* Oversee and approve valuations, variations, and final accounts
* Prepare and review accurate monthly cost and value reports
* Provide commercial guidance to project and site teams
* Identify and implement value engineering opportunities
* Support and mentor junior commercial staff where required
* Manage all senior-level commercial and contractual duties associated with the role
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within residential groundworks
* Strong contractual and commercial management expertise
* Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
* Excellent negotiation and value engineering capability
* Strong time management and leadership skills
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* Excellent communication and reporting abilities
