About the company

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee our facility, manage a team of warehouse supervisors, warehouse operatives, and transport planning. The role involves ensuring the achievement of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), with a strong focus on operational safety and people management within a busy warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
* Deliver continuous improvement plans for stores and support the design and fit-out of a new purpose-built store facility.
* Manage and communicate operational or procedural changes effectively, ensuring all staff focus on delivering against SLAs and KPIs.
* Oversee logistics to ensure assets and materials are transported in line with fleet and business demands.
* Set performance standards and implement measurement processes to maintain stock levels and compliance with regulations.
* Enforce store security and health and safety protocols to ensure safety of materials and visitors.
Health and Safety Management
* Take ownership of health and safety initiatives, promoting safe working practices under the '4 steps to zero harm' approach.
* Implement safe systems and controls, understanding and following Siemens Rail Systems HSQE policies.
* Provide strong and visible leadership in health and safety management.
Stakeholder Management
* Manage relationships with vendor-managed inventory suppliers.
Inventory Control
* Manage stock control processes to ensure materials are received, stored, and issued according to SLAs, prioritizing safety.
* Review store handling and storage processes for safety, control, and timeliness.
* Implement audits to monitor stock accuracy and address discrepancies.
* Support the supply and distribution of materials to various fleets and the wider service business.
Continuous Improvement
* Develop the store team to enhance skills and competencies for efficient operation.
* Improve store processes, systems, and procedures for better effectiveness.
* Foster cross-functional process development.
Experience and Qualifications
* Proven warehouse management experience in a similar role.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is essential.
* Knowledge of SAP ERP systems is advantageous.
* Financial awareness and budget management skills.
* Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
* Relevant management and warehouse qualifications are advantageous.
* Dynamic leadership attitude, collaborative approach.
* HSE qualifications are beneficial.
