IT Project Manager

As a result of our expansion plans, and our continued ongoing success we are seeking a dynamic IT Project Manager to be based at our Head Office in Plymouth.
About the Role:
The candidate we need is a master communicator and an expert navigator. As a strong growing retail business our environment is fairly reactive; priorities can shift by the afternoon, and we need someone who doesn’t break a sweat when the plan changes. You’ll be the bridge between our business goals and our development team’s reality. Your job isn't to manage the "how" (the devs have that covered), but to manage the "what," the "when," and the "who."
Responsibilities:
1. Alignment & Execution: Keep developers, senior leadership, and the wider business aligned and focused, even as priorities evolve.
2. Change Leadership: Translate shifting business needs into clear, actionable plans, milestones, and deliverables for the team.
3. Dependency Management: Proactively identify and manage cross-team dependencies, remove blockers, and sequence work so teams have what they need when they need it.
4. Stakeholder Management: Set realistic expectations, provide concise, audience-appropriate progress updates, and surface risks early without overcomplicating the message.
5. Continuous Improvement: Refine delivery practices pragmatically improving how we work without adding unnecessary process and foster a culture of candid feedback and shared ownership.
Person Specification:
6. Adaptable and resilient: Comfortable in fast-moving environments where priorities evolve; treat change as an opportunity to realign work to the highest-value outcomes.
7. Clear communicator: Bridge business goals and technical delivery, ensuring the right solutions are built at the right time.
8. Delivery-focused: Driven by outcomes; take projects from initiation to completion and deliver measurable value to the business.
9. Technically fluent: Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle without needing to dive into implementation detail.
10. Proven experience: Successfully planned, coordinated, and delivered software projects from kick-off to completion.
11. Proactive problem-solver: Anticipate issues, identify bottlenecks, and remove blockers to maintain momentum.
12. Desirable qualifications: PM certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Scrum Master) are beneficial; a strong track record and mindset are valued above credentials.
