Our Design & Advisory Team:
Venterra's Design and Advisory team is a multi-disciplinary group combining offshore policy, feasibility, marine consultancy, and core civil and geotechnical engineering design expertise, operating in offshore wind and marine development sectors. We provide tailored solutions to client challenges, including market studies, infrastructure and supply chain readiness, feasibility, due diligence, and bankability assessments, backed by strong technical design expertise for foundations, substations, and infrastructure development.

Role Description / Purpose of the role:
Background:
The Head of Department role is part of the Offshore Group senior management team, overseeing 50 engineers and consultants. This role involves external client management, commercial responsibilities, and team leadership for the ports team of 8 members. The focus is on energy-related marine development projects, providing strategic advice to offshore developers and due diligence to financiers, working closely with the Marine Advisory team.
Head of Department Ports & Supply Chain
This leadership role aims to grow and expand our Ports team within the multidisciplinary Offshore Design and Advisory Group. You and your team will collaborate with our Advisory Consultancy to provide advice, technical solutions, and designs for marine project infrastructure, including market studies, feasibility, concept, and detailed designs.
Scope of the Ports Team activities:
Market studies, infrastructure and supply chain readiness, feasibility, due diligence, bankability assessments, concept and detailed designs, technical support for planning and EIA submissions, and technical consultancy for port and marine infrastructure.
Key responsibilities:
* Client management and work acquisition: lead client relationships with offshore developers, financiers, port operators, supply chain, and tier 1 contractors.
* Team Delivery: ensure project delivery meets quality, schedule, and budget; act as a senior advisor to clients.
* Leadership & People Management: oversee staff development, resourcing, utilization, and recruitment.
* Commercial: participate in sales, relationship management, and ensure project profitability.
