THE ROLE
The Post-production and Record Operations Coordinator will work with the Post-production and Record Technical Manager to oversee Edit and Record Operations across BBC Studioworks' portfolio, including Television Centre, Fairbanks Studios, Elstree Film Studios, and Kelvin Hall Glasgow. The role involves developing editing and record workflows and establishing operational and technical standards. The position requires working some unsociable hours, including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Key Accountabilities
1. Ensure a robust record solution across all business areas in collaboration with the Post-production and Record Technical Manager.
2. Coordinate with production and studio management to set up tapeless recording workflows.
3. Configure Avid Nexis workspaces and external raids for streaming media.
4. Develop and communicate workflows to operators.
5. Manage recorded media, liaising with the Post-production and Record Technical Manager and clients.
6. Operate Avid ingest and playback as required.
7. Oversee freelance operators.
8. Perform recordings and EVS operations as needed.
9. Manage post-production projects, including quoting and editing requirements.
10. Set up post-production Avid workflows from ingest to delivery.
11. Provide holiday cover for the Technical Manager.
12. Training will be provided to support candidate development.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* Knowledge of EVS servers, IPD, XTA hardware.
* Experience with EVS Studio Playin and recording workflows involving Avid Nexis, Media Central, and external NAS.
* Understanding of post-production workflows including Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, and ProTools.
* Experience working on television productions in a studio environment.
* Commercial knowledge of quoting and editing for projects.
* Knowledge of UK broadcasters' AS-11 deliverables.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
* Understanding of the programme-making process and end-product delivery requirements.
* Strong communication skills and customer-focused approach.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
