Morson are recruiting for a Contracts Engineer – Buildings Surveyor to support Estates & Facilities Management function at our clients Glascoed site.This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly regulated defence environment, contributing to the maintenance, development, and compliance of critical site infrastructure.Rate £22.69 per hour PAYEWorking Pattern 37 hours per weekMonday – Thursday: 07:15 – 17:00Friday: OffLocation Glascoed (site-based)Security Clearance BPSS requiredSC clearance to be obtained (in-flight)The Role Reporting to the Civil Project Engineer, you will support the operation, maintenance, and development of site buildings and infrastructure.You will play a key role in ensuring all facilities are maintained to a high standard and remain compliant with relevant regulations, whilst supporting both planned and reactive works across the estate.Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed building condition surveys and inspectionsPrepare technical reports, specifications, and feasibility studiesDevelop maintenance plans and work packages using asset management systemsProduce CAD drawings, work schedules, and tender documentationSupport contract administration and project delivery activitiesMaintain Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules and statutory compliance recordsCollaborate with engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, and infrastructure disciplinesAssess and oversee property adaptations and improvement worksEnsure delivery of works within budget constraintsPromote and adhere to Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) standardsSupport asset management, defect diagnosis, and continuous improvement activitiesProject Environment You will operate within a complex manufacturing and defence environment where infrastructure performance is critical to operational success.The role involves close collaboration with multiple internal engineering teams, capital project functions, and external contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of maintenance and improvement works across the site.About You Essential:Experience within commercial or industrial environmentsHNC/HND in an engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)Working knowledge of building regulations and CDM requirementsDesirable:Experience managing contractorsHealth & Safety qualifications (e.g. IOSH, SMSTS)Membership or working towards a professional engineering institutionExperience within a defence or regulated industry environmentKey Skills Strong technical problem-solving abilityAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectivelyExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsExperience working within multi-functional teamsStrong organisational and planning capabilitiesProactive approach to identifying improvements and solutionsWhat This Role Offers Long-term opportunity with potential to extend beyond 20264-day working week (excellent work-life balance)Exposure to complex infrastructure within a leading defence organisationCollaborative, safety-focused engineering environmentOpportunity to contribute to critical national infrastructureTPBN1_UKTJ
