Purpose of the role:
Support the Head of Product Development and site team, managing the efficient running of NPD process from concept to launch, giving clear direction to the NPD team on work scheduling, adhering to all customer integrity standards. And meeting all customer expectations
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for supporting Head of Product Development, in the co-ordination of all customer briefs and critical paths.
* Recipe Generation.
* Proactively work on category insight, targeting opportunities across frozen desserts. Address range gaps, highlighting what the competitor market is doing.
* Supporting Head of Product Development, in ensuring all other members of the team have clear direction on their daily /weekly tasks.
* Liaise and communicate collaboratively working with all other relevant departments in the business to ensure a smooth transition of concept products developed, driving continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring successful product launches, meeting the customers' expectation on quality, nutritional and specific brand standards
* Complete benchmarking documents and reports, and specific customer documents to support the development project.
* With the support of the NPD Assistant ensure, all recipe nutritional complies to the customer requirements and is documented on submission forms throughout the concept stage.
* Generating the preliminary product specifications to support the formulation of the final customer specification
* With the support of the NPD Assistant, generate all NPD recipes and packaging for costings, allocating the unique recipe codes.
* Supporting commercial to complete NLF and customer tender document information
* Communicate effectively, ensuring all relevant parties, have NPD procedure document control up to date and complete and this adheres to the BRC requirement.
* Support the site team, in presenting the NPD product and process controls to BRC accreditation
* Work with the business central procurement team and suppliers on the sourcing of new ingredients, ensuring relevant information on price, MOQ and lead times are available for the generation of costs.
* Generating the NRM Risk assessment documents and ensuring completion from the site technical team prior to production use.
* Responsible for updating and tracking of the NPD status report, ensuring communication with all relevant parties
* Ensure company policies are being observed and adhered to at all times.
* Trial reporting.
* Technical Sample requests.
* Dual Deputising with the Process Manager, for Head of Product Development in site absence.
Essential Criteria and Qualifications:
* Experience in a Food Manufacturing Environment
* Practical skills and knowledge in food preparation and cooking
* The ability to be consistently accurate, demonstrating attention to detail and working to the highest possible standards
* The ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
* The ability to work to given deadlines, focusing on the tasks required
* Flexibility around working hours during busy periods
* A good command of English and good communication skills
* Competent IT skills, use of MS Office and database input
