Part-time - 6 days across the academic year
University Centre Farnborough is seeking lecturers to support post-graduate trainee teachers and their school-based mentors as they progress through their Initial Teacher Training year, leading to Qualified Teacher Status in Biology and Geography.
Ideally, candidates will be experienced and knowledgeable Secondary school teachers (11-16, Biology/Geography). We seek those who have had previous experience of mentoring trainee teachers, and who might have run Initial Teacher Training programmes in their own schools.
These exciting roles would suit dynamic, experienced and innovative Secondary School subject specialists and/or subject leaders in English or Science who want to be at the forefront of growing the next generation of teachers. Ideally, potential candidates will be seeking either a part-time role possibly downsizing their existing teaching role with flexible working hours across the academic year. Alternatively, a secondment from their current place of work would be considered.
Responsibilities
* Support post-graduate trainee teachers and their school-based mentors during the Initial Teacher Training year.
* Lead to Qualified Teacher Status in Biology and Geography.
* Mentor trainee teachers and contribute to training programmes where appropriate.
* Collaborate with school partners and the college to deliver practical and theoretical training.

*Some flexibility may be possible.
