About Us The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in Wolverhampton which supports, empowers and advocates for women and children. We aim to actively encourage women to be self-reliant, through empowering them to identify their own needs, make their own choices and create their own solutions. We offer a baby bank, a charity shop & various community support services to help women facing crises or challenging situations. The Role We are looking for a passionate and organised Assistant Operations Manager (On-site Volunteer) to lead the delivery and redevelopment of our flagship Baby Bank service. This is a key role focused on rebuilding, structuring, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the service, while maintaining compassionate support for families in need. This is a fast-moving opportunity, and volunteers can start immediately. Key Responsibilities Service Delivery & Leadership Oversee daily Baby Bank operations Manage referrals and client appointments Ensure timely, respectful, and professional support Volunteer Management Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers Maintain structured scheduling and prevent burnout Conduct regular volunteer reviews Stock & Inventory Manage donations, storage, and distribution Monitor stock levels and maintain quality standards Corporate Engagement Coordinate corporate volunteer days Build relationships with local business partners Administration & Systems Maintain accurate records and reports Support digital systems and workflow improvements Ensure data protection compliance Funding & Reporting Track service impact and outcomes Support funding applications and reporting Compliance & Safeguarding Ensure adherence to safeguarding and organisational policies Maintain a safe and inclusive environment What We’re Looking For Qualifications Previous experience in administrative or office support roles preferred Experience in customer service or front-line communication Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Comfortable using digital systems and databases Skills Strong communication skills (verbal and written) High attention to detail Professional phone and email etiquette Organised and structured approach to work Empathy and sensitivity when dealing with vulnerable families Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently Reliability and accountability Why Join Us?
