As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, youll be expected to assess all patients and provide the right management or referral. Youll have to be reliable and dependable, passionate and committed to delivering high quality health care in an out-of-hours (OOH) environment.
If you hold a non-medical prescriber qualification and would like to join our professional team as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP), then we would love to hear from you. As we provide an OOH service, you must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
Main duties of the job
We operate IUC CAS telephone based services within our Call Centres in Ashford, Norfolk and Essex. You will be part of the multidisciplinary team which includes GPs; ACPs, UCPs and Prescribing Pharmacists. As part of the IUC model, you will be required to deliver face to face consultations from a designated Primary Care Centre or within patients own homes when required. Patients will get referred to you via NHS 111, where you will be expected to use your clinical expertise to treat, advise or refer them on to the most appropriate service.
This role is particularly suited to an autonomous Clinician that has undertaken core modules within the Specialist Paramedic, Nurse/Paramedic Practitioner program or an experienced Nurse/Paramedic who has additional training in assessing minor illness. This is an opportunity like no other one that makes a difference to patients that require urgent care or deteriorate during the OOH period.

Job responsibilities
You will work as an advanced, autonomous practitioner using a high level of decision making. Your primary focus will be the provision of excellent patient centred care, encompassing the skills of face to face clinical assessment, examination, clinical diagnosis and the development and delivery of effective urgent treatment for patients of all ages with undifferentiated, undiagnosed primary/ urgent health care problems of full general practice patient needs including paediatrics, care of elderly and mental health.
This role works within the parameters of current prescribing legislation.

Qualifications
Essential
6. Regulated Health Care professional with current registration (NMC/HCPC).
7. At least 5 years post qualification and registration: -
8. including at least 6 months working within primary care and/ or urgent care setting.
9. Minor illness module level 6 or above.
10. Physical Assessment of adults course level 7 or above.
11. Palliative care/ End of life care course or module.
12. Verification of Expected Death course.
13. Consultation Skills- (history taking and physical examination.)
14. Registered as a non-medical prescriber with the relevant regulator (V300 non- medical prescribing qualification).
15. Supervision/leadership/mentoring training or qualification.
Desirable
16. Physical assessment of children or equivalent module.
17. Chronic disease management.
18. Recognised Teaching and Assessing course.
19. Mental health and/or learning disabilities qualification.
