Procurement Portfolio Manager | Mansfield | Salary up to £59,000 per annum | Hybrid working | 37 days holiday | 27% Pension Contribution

Cherry Professional are currently recruiting for a Senior Procurement Officer. Working with service delivery teams, you will identify requirements, be involved in research and planning stages, go out to tender, and lead during evaluation, moderation, and contract award stages.

Responsibilities:

1. Work with stakeholders at all levels to ensure procurement activities are efficiently planned, delivered, and embedded.
2. Ensure initiatives align with strategic goals and compliance requirements, deliver measurable value, and achieve business outcomes.
3. Maintain and manage the procurement portfolio project pipeline, including prioritization, resource allocation, and performance monitoring.
4. Serve as the primary contact for the procurement portfolio, communicating progress, risks, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.
5. Analyze procurement portfolio risks, determine severity, and implement mitigation actions proactively, escalating as needed.
6. Understand the Authority’s strategic objectives to inform portfolio prioritization and decision-making.
7. Communicate complex information related to projects and programmes clearly and effectively to various audiences, including Board level.
8. Prepare and maintain the Procurement Portfolio plan, presenting it periodically to the Head of Procurement.
9. Contribute to review of Business Cases, leading option appraisals in terms of cost, benefits, and risks.
10. Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
11. Ensure consistent delivery across the portfolio, adhering to governance structures.

Ideal Candidate:

1. Portfolio, Programmes and Project Offices (P3O) Practitioner or Management of Portfolio (MoP) Practitioner.
2. Experience in a procurement role.
3. Experience in portfolio management and leading programme delivery.
4. Understanding of what good looks like and ability to demonstrate delivering it.
5. Ability to manage and prioritize demanding workloads.
6. Knowledge of project management best practices.
