In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, supporting customers, coordinating hires, and ensuring our equipment is where it needs to be, when it needs to be there. Your work directly contributes to Jarvie Plant’s reputation for reliable, high‑quality hire solutions and excellent customer service.
How This Role Supports the Delivery of Hire Solutions
Our Hire Controllers play a key role in delivering exceptional service and operational efficiency. Your work ensures our customers receive the equipment they need, safely, efficiently, and on time.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for hire enquiries, providing professional and friendly support to customers and internal teams.
* Coordinate the full hire process from quotation and booking to scheduling deliveries and processing off‑hires.
* Support operational efficiency by maintaining accurate hire documentation and system records.
* Collaborate with workshop, transport, and depot teams to maximise fleet utilisation and minimise downtime.
* Manage logistics to ensure equipment movements are planned, communicated, and completed on time.
* Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance customer satisfaction.
What Makes You a Good Fit for This Role
* Previous experience in hire operations, logistics, or a customer service environment (preferred but not essential).
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple enquiries efficiently.
* Confident communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
* Attention to detail to ensure accurate order processing, documentation, and asset tracking.
* A proactive, solution‑focused approach with the ability to think on your feet.
* Comfortable using IT systems and CRM software (e.g. InspHire, HubSpot, Microsoft Office, Outlook).
* A collaborative team player who supports others to achieve shared goals.
* A positive attitude and a desire to grow your knowledge of fleet operations and the hire industry.
