Location: Warrington
Contract: 12 Months + (Inside IR35)
Rate: £63.00 - £76.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Security Clearance: UK Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to join our team in Warrington on a long-term contract.
As a Senior Engineer, you will take ownership of engineering and technical activities across multiple projects - applying deep domain expertise, technical leadership, and sound engineering judgment to deliver high-quality, safe, and compliant solutions.
You'll work independently or as part of a small, dynamic team, guiding less experienced engineers, contributing to project strategy, and ensuring engineering excellence across all deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of EC&I design and engineering solutions, ensuring adherence to relevant codes, standards, and customer specifications.
Provide technical direction, mentorship, and coaching to junior engineers.
Produce, review, and approve calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design documentation, and technical reports.
Maintain configuration control and ensure the integrity of design intent throughout the project lifecycle.
Contribute to project safety assessments, risk management, and design reviews.
Support the Project Manager with planning, control, and delivery of engineering tasks.
Act as Technical Authority or Engineering Lead when authorised.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Promote a culture of best practice in safety, engineering standards, and ethics.
Support business development activities and provide input to tender processes and estimates.
Keep up to date with emerging technology, industry standards, and process improvements.
About You
Essential Skills & Experience
Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
Chartered Engineer status (or actively working toward Chartered status).
Proven experience delivering engineering work within EC&I or a closely related field.
Experience working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of engineering governance, risk management, and safety assurance.
Desirable
Membership of a relevant professional institution.
Experience managing EC&I scope across the full project lifecycle (Concept through to EPC).
Experience within commercial, nuclear, or defence sectors.
