Adecco are pleased to be recruiting for experienced Cleaning Supervisors to work for our client Greater Manchester Police at various locations within the Manchester area. These roles will be working a temporary contract Monday to Friday between 7am and 3pm and 8am and 4pm full time hours. PLEASE NOTE DUE TO THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVING TO UNDERGO POLICE VETTING YOU MUST HAVE RESIDED WITHIN THE UK CONTINUOUSLY FOR AT LEAST 5 YEARS AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION. The purpose of the role will be to be responsible for the supervising of cleaning staff and to ensure that cleaning standards are maintained within the division. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To supervise cleaning staff, planning, allocating and controlling work as required, and ensuring staff adhere to schedules and work is completed to the agreed standard. To complete GMP new starter inductions, provide induction skills training and the ongoing training of staff in the methods required to carry out duties, correct use of equipment and materials, chemicals and health and safety procedures. To manage and maximise and promote good attendance; undertaking personnel duties in respect of pay variations, sickness reporting procedures, monitoring of timekeeping (through booking in/out procedures) including the first levels of the Standards of Performance and Attendance Procedures. To include but not be restricted to the implementation and review of Plans to Support Improved Attendance. To monitor budgets for materials used in the provision of the cleaning services ensuring that the correct dilution and quantities are used. To visit on a weekly basis all designated buildings within the area of responsibility, making regular contact with your cleaners and provide cover for leave sickness or vacancies for other Cleaning Supervisors and buildings as required. To liaise regularly with District and Branch customers and Facilities Managers to ensure site cleaning requirements are met and there is a coordinated approach to the service. To maintain and record regular health and safety checks on equipment and work areas, reporting any defects or hazards. To monitor and check the quality of the standards and work schedules as per the service level agreements for cleaning services. To order and issue all materials required to maintain agreed standards throughout all buildings. To ensure that staff use equipment and materials safely and that the relevant warning signs are posted when required. To inform the Business Support Supervisor of any faults occurring in the building e.g. lighting, pipe bursts etc. and the Cleaning Manager of any cleaning equipment faults. To promote good performance and manage poor performance in line with GMP policies. This will include but not be restricted to the implementation and review of Individual Plans to Support Improved Performance.General To promote and comply with GMP's policies on health and safety both in the delivery of services and the treatment of others. If you have responsibility for staff; to manage staff development, performance and attendance using appropriate GMP policy and procedure Supervisors and managers have the additional responsibility of ensuring that staff undertake the appropriate training and fully understand and apply the required Force policy, procedures and information / records management standards in the course of their duties. Supervisors and managers should ensure that staff / officers understand their responsibilities in maintaining data quality and security and have appropriate processes in place to monitor compliance. To carry out such other duties which are consistent with the nature, responsibilities and grading of the post.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Knowledge of cleaning methods, machinery/equipment and materials. Experience of planning, allocating and controlling the cleaning of multiple areas or sites. Displays the capability to deal with day-to-day issues e.g. time keeping, cover for sickness/holidays. Experience of maximising standards of service. Experience of managing poor standards of performance and attendance. Good communication skills with the ability to liaise with cleaning teams, other supervisors and site contacts. Ability to undertake cleaning quality and health and safety audits, including peer audits Carried out cleaning duties. Worked as a cleaning supervisor in a large-scale organisation. Experience of induction and skills training. Good standard of education to include English and Maths. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business purposes.
