Tranzit is an award-winning transport and tourism provider operating throughout NZ. We are seeking an experienced, and operationally focused individual to join our Hawkes Bay team in the role of Operations Manager.
This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations, leading and supporting our team of 80 drivers to deliver a range of transport services across the Hawke's Bay region. You will be responsible for ensuring our fleet of vehicles are ready, our team of drivers know the plan and we deliver on every promise we make to our customers.
This is a fast-paced, exciting industry and this position will suit someone who thrives on change and quick, methodical decision making. Your task will be to ensure our network is functioning at all times over a 7-day period. Work hours can vary due to the nature of our industry with management support after hours as and when required.
You will be responsible for:
* The day-to-day running of our school bus and charter operations, and ensure we are delivering safe, reliable, and quality transport,
* Rostering our Fleet and Drivers,
* Processing payroll,
* Coordinating fleet maintenance,
* Fostering a positive, supportive, and high-performing team culture, where drivers feel valued and set up for success,
* Support our client relationships by exceeding customer needs, ensuring top quality delivery of our services,
* A positive, proactive H&S culture, whilst ensuring compliance with policies and procedures,
To be successful you should have:
* Proven experience in an operational role in a leadership capacity,
* A positive, pragmatic and well-balanced approach to problem solving, and decision making,
* Ability to work under pressure,
* Advanced technical skills and willingness to adapt to new technology,
* A current class 2 and 4 drivers' licence with the ability to gain a Passenger endorsement (We can assist with this)
* Transport industry experience would also be an advantage.
