We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Bowring Marsh. This role will be based in Hamilton, Bermuda. This position is onsite on a full-time basis.
The Broker is responsible for the daily service of a portfolio of major US-based clients within the Casualty and Healthcare division. The Broker provides service & advice associated with placements made or delivered to clients and is involved in negotiations with the Bermuda markets to obtain the best terms, conditions, coverage and pricing for a client.
Responsibilities
* Handle placement of Casualty and Healthcare insurance programs into the Bermuda market for major US-based clients
* Understand client needs, including assessing & developing solutions to complex risk situations
* Identify and develop new sources of business
* Strategize and coordinate with other Marsh offices globally
* Analyze client exposures and prepare high-quality submissions to provide to underwriters
* Benchmark and analyze data to assist with new sales
* Manage policy review and delivery to clients
* Work as an experienced member of a team and act as a role model for junior colleagues
* Operate with a high degree of personal responsibility and accountability
* Keep abreast of changing risk and insurance market conditions
* Handle face-to-face negotiations and present and/or take on public speaking roles, as required
* Perform other job-related duties, as required
Qualifications
* 5+ years’ Casualty and/or Healthcare insurance broking experience in Bermuda or the International insurance market
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
* Proven experience to independently handle complex client assignments operating with a high degree of personal responsibility and accountability
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload and manage such during busy periods
* A willingness and ability to work beyond normal office hours to meet tight deadlines
* Superior technical, financial and interpersonal skills, specifically regards written and verbal communication and presentation
* An understanding of negotiating techniques & ability to apply these in discussions with insurers and clients
* Awareness of current market conditions
* A high level of technical expertise in the various Casualty and/or Healthcare policy forms
Preferred
* Bachelor’s degree (or significant industry experience in lieu)
* Relevant industry qualifications
* High sense of personal accountability
* Self-motivation and ability to work on their own initiative
