An excellent opportunity for experienced Nursery Practitioner Level 3 in a lovely nursery setting in Wallingford that is part of the Chatsworth Schools Group. You will have responsibility for delivering the EYFS alongside caring for the daily needs of children between the ages of 0 to 5 years old. Duchess Nursery Wallingford is a warm family orientated nursery, with a homely feel and 3 individual rooms to cater for all of the children’s needs. We are a small setting, situated on Wallingford School grounds, and can hold up to 36 children. You are passionate and enthusiastic with working with children in all aspects of their care, learning and development, have a sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and have the ability to plan for, deliver, record and assess the elements within the EYFS, be competent in computer use, be able to liaise with and report to parents maintaining confidentiality at all times and be part of a small and friendly team. The role will be working alongside the Nursery Manager and supporting our lovely growing team. Main Responsibilities To understand what constitutes quality care and education To have a good knowledge of child development and the areas and age ranges of the EYFS To be prepared to implement the Early Years Foundation Stage; planning, delivering, observing, recording and assessing To ensure that best practice is employed within teaching To work as part of a team in all aspects To show personal and professional integrity and confidentiality at all times To provide a warm, caring and stimulating environment for the children To organise and maintain the classroom environment and resources effectively To maintain appropriate presentation of all school areas alongside your team To provide an environment free from gender, sexual and racial stereotyping To build and maintain strong links with parents To keep written records/ online records on children and liaise with parents as required To work effectively within the whole nursery team giving support to colleagues To attend and contribute to staff meetings, training sessions and any specific events as requested by the manager. To maintain regulatory certification and keep abreast of legislation in the Early years To have a high regard for the culture of the nursery school and Chatsworth Schools To carry out any other duties as required by the manager or Director of Early years for the benefit of the nursery community and reputation Personal Specification You will require excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, and the ability to develop effective relationships with parents, colleagues and outside agencies. IT capability is essential as is the ability to prioritise, plan and time manage effectively. You have a responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people for whom you are responsible, or with whom you come into contact in the school. It is your responsibility to adhere to and ensure compliance with the nursery school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy at all times. If at any time you identify and instance that a child or young person is at risk you must report your concerns immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead or the Deputy DSL. -A minimum of a Level 2 or 3 in childcare related qualification. -GCSE or equivalent English and Mathmatics Grace C or above (if chidcare qualification acheievd after September 2014) -A strong knowledge of the EYFS. Full time contract: 40 hours a week with one unpaid lunch break each day. Mixture of shifts, for example, 7.30-4.30, 8.00-5.00, 8.30-5.30, 9.00-6.00, 9.30-6.30pm. 20 days annual leave, with 8 additional bank holidays. Open 51 weeks of the year.
