What is great about this role? You’ll play a key role in: Delivering high-quality homes for rent and sale in line with Codi’s Growth Strategy Strengthening relationships with Welsh Government, Local Authorities and delivery partners Leading and supporting colleagues across the Development team during critical stages of delivery It’s a chance to build on your development experience, broaden your leadership exposure, and contribute directly to programme-wide delivery and decision-making. Where does this role fit in? As Development Manager, you’ll report to the Head of Development and lead on the day-to-day operational management of development activity, with a particular focus on the TACP programme. You’ll manage your own major projects while also providing leadership, oversight and support to colleagues, including Senior Project Managers, Project Managers and Project Management Assistants, across the full development lifecycle. The role spans: Early feasibility, viability and acquisition Planning, design and procurement Construction, completion and defect periods You’ll work closely with colleagues across Codi, ensuring schemes move smoothly through internal governance and external approval processes, while maintaining strong oversight of cost, programme, risk and quality. What skills and experience do you need? To be successful in this role, you’ll need to bring strong development experience, sound judgement, and a collaborative leadership style. In particular, we’re looking for colleagues with: Significant experience working within a development environment, meeting demanding performance standards A proven track record of leadership, including managing and supporting multi-disciplinary teams Strong commercial awareness, including risk management and programme oversight Experience delivering projects through the full development process, from feasibility to completion The ability to manage technical, financial and legal considerations on complex schemes Experience building and maintaining effective internal and external partnerships, including with Local Authority partners Strong communication, organisation and prioritisation skills IT confidence, using tools such as MS Teams, SharePoint, Word and Excel day to day A full driving licence and access to a car for work purposes Perks, Benefits and a glimpse into our Codi world Join Codi’s Development team and play a key leadership role supporting delivery of the TACP programme, helping to bring forward high-quality homes across our operating areas in Wales. This role can be based from Newport, Cardiff or Swansea, with agile working in place. You’ll work closely with colleagues, partners and stakeholders across the organisation and externally, with flexibility to travel as needed to support scheme delivery. We support a healthy work–life balance, with Monday to Friday working, flexible and agile arrangements, and the option of compressed hours, where operationally appropriate. This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover role (37 hours per week, until 1 January 2027), with a salary of £73,870, offering the opportunity to step into a senior development leadership position and gain valuable experience leading complex programmes and teams.
