The ANP will be responsible for managing their own clinical workload, including urgent and same-day presentations, and will play a vital role in ensuring timely access to care for patients. A strong emphasis is placed on patient-centred care, health promotion, and preventative medicine.

Position Overview

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will work as an integral member of the clinical team, delivering advanced, evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting with a broad spectrum of undifferentiated, acute, and chronic conditions. The role requires a high level of clinical expertise, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive clinical assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients presenting with undifferentiated and complex conditions
• Independently prescribe medications in line with practice formulary, national guidelines, and best clinical practice
• Manage a range of clinical presentations, including urgent/on-the-day appointments, minor illness, chronic disease reviews, and long-term condition management
• Request, interpret, and take appropriate action on diagnostic investigations, including pathology results and imaging
• Provide health promotion, screening, and patient education to support preventative care and self-management
• Work collaboratively with GPs, practice nurses, healthcare assistants, pharmacists, and allied health professionals to ensure holistic patient care
• Maintain accurate, clear, and contemporaneous clinical records in line with professional standards and regulatory requirements
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and the ongoing development of practice services
