Role and Responsibilities
Your Key Responsibilities
The purpose of the role is to support the Director of Commercial Finance in providing commercial and financial support to the B2B function of the MX Division of Samsung Electronics UK. The role is within the Finance Operations team, supporting Product Management and Sales teams, reporting to the Director of Commercial Finance.
Strategic Business Partnering
* Work closely with senior leadership and functional heads to influence and shape business strategy.
* Present and communicate financial insights to non-financial partners clearly.
* Offer solutions to drive revenue growth by optimizing investment for value.
* Handle relationships with external customers related to commercial finance matters.
* Understand the product portfolio, channelization, and customer strategy.
Commercial decision support
* Support development and implementation of investment frameworks aligned to divisional goals.
* Increase efficiency and enhance results from sales deduction investments across product categories.
* Provide financial insights, analysis, and appraisal support.
* Analyze investment performance, identify risks and opportunities, and work with marketing on contingency plans.
* Support day-to-day commercial decision making, evaluate customer proposals and bids, and understand leasing solutions.
Financial planning
* Ensure robust forecasts, challenge key inputs, and support financial planning processes.
* Provide analysis such as scenario and sensitivity analyses.
Driving financial performance
* Collaborate with Product Management and Sales to meet financial objectives.
* Work with FP&A team to prepare reports and identify trends.
* Discover opportunities to improve financial performance and growth.
Financial management and control
* Ensure strong control and governance in financial activities.
* Guide on accounting for complex customer deals, ensuring compliance with standards.
People
* Lead and develop one indirect report.
What we need for this role
To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
* FMCG background required. Experience within technology sector and a fast-paced sales environment needed.
* B2B experience.
* Understanding of leasing/financing solutions.
Soft Skills
* Strong commercial competence and decision-making skills.
* Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
* Proactive, accountable, and influential.
* Effective communication and reporting skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Hard Skills
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 5+ years’ experience.
* Knowledge of international accounting standards.
* Experience in technology or FMCG sectors.
* ERP system experience (preferably SAP).
* Ability to implement process improvements.
Success indicators
* Support accurate and timely commercial proposals, optimize ROI, and minimize risks.
* Act as a bridge between sales, product management, and FP&A.
* Ensure accurate forecasts and team development.
Interview process
Two interviews: first with an Excel test and competency interview, second with the Director of B2B.
